Mazzola is a well-known crook and a big name in the criminal underworld of Florence, feared for her vast number of dangerous and powerful contacts and her terrifying hook. She runs a vast network of petty thieves who steal pickings to add to her huge stash of stolen loot, namely one Bruno Cafarelli.

History

When Mazzola's goon, Bruno Cafarelli, grows tired of her threats and steals the key to her safe. Mazzola sees him with Lorenzo de' Medici and assumes he is planning to rob him. At nightfall, Bruno steals the loot and plants a necklace to frame Niccolo Machiavelli and before taking refuge at the Medici Palace where Lorenzo vouches for his whereabouts. Mazzola is furious and after visiting Bruno and Lorenzo, confronts Mac and tries cut him apart when she finds the necklace. Lorenzo arrives and, rushes to save Mac, defeating Bruno and returning the stash to Mazzola. Mazzola takes Bruno by the ear, no doubt planning to teach him a lesson. (Cat and Mouse)
