Angelica Visconti is the rich and beautiful daughter of the wealthy Visconti family of Pisa. She is engaged to Lorenzo de' Medici, whose father Piero de' Medici sees Pisa as a powerful ally in his plan to take over Florence.

Biography[]

Angelica arrives in Florence during the preparations for carnival with her bodyguard, Benito, to be betrothed to Lorenzo de' Medici. At the party at the Medici palace, she is not impressed to see Lisa Gherardini wearing the same dress as her as states it is a cheap copy of hers. When Niccolo Machiavelli accidentally lets slip to Leonardo da Vinci his feelings for Lisa and Lisa's feeling for Leo himself, Leo confides in Angelica, mistakenly believing her to be Lisa. Angelica speaks her mind and tells Leo that she most certainly does not like him. After the party, the gang joke about how rude and snooty Angelica seemed. (The Betrothal Ball)

When Lorenzo pays Mac to take Angelica out for the day, she gets her own back by mass ordering food at the restaurant. After revealing her frustrations at being trapped in an arranged engagement, she and Mac bond. However they are kidnapped by Gorgoni, a criminal who wants revenge on Mac for grassing him up to the authorities. After failing to escape, Gorgoni takes them to the city gates, planning to escape the city but they are rescued by Leonardo. Having survived their ordeal, Angelica and Mac begins to develop feelings for each other. (Stupid Cupid)

With wedding day dawning, Mac promises Angelica that he and his friends will stop the wedding. They plan to run away together and they kiss. After her engagement to Lorenzo is cancelled thanks to an elaborate charade by Leo, Lisa and Mac, Angelica reconciles with her father, Felipe Visconti, who reveals he only wants her to be happy. She then tells a heartbroken Mac that she feels she must stay with her father and leaves to return to Pisa after a tearful farewell. (Hitched)

Personality[]

At first, Angelica appears to be arrogant, cold and unfriendly. However, as Mac soon discovers, she is actually a very intelligent young woman who is able to play him at his own game. Deep down, Angelica really just wants be free and is sick of being passed around like a parcel. She was also a bit naive and had didn't seem realize the full dangers of the criminal underworld. She was shown to take an interest in Mac at the Ball and during their day out together and their ordeal at the hands of Gorgoni, develops feelings for him. She agrees to run away with him but her duty to her father makes her realize he needs her and she makes the difficult choice to return to Pisa.
